I am a double honours graduate from Edinburgh University and Moray House School of Education; having been through the Scottish education system my experience is very varied, including Maths, Humanities, Psychology and Education. I have also worked in finance which gave valuable experience of the working world outside education – and sat my professional exams.
Trained in Primary & Secondary education, I have taught in many schools in Scotland and England, and also in Spain. Considered an enthusiastic teacher with 30+ years’ experience in school teaching, and also one to one tutoring, I have been in e learning since its inception in East Sussex and seen many exciting developments. Over the years I have acquired relevant professional education and training and become adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously such as planning and setting exams and assignments.
My mix of skills and experience as a parent as well as a teacher gives me the willingness to work above and beyond the call of duty. Career highlights to date are too many to list – setting up new, relevant courses in schools, leading to me being invited with a student to London for big government presentation on the River Thames, acting as advisory teacher and moderator for whole of Southern England, former pupil Dame Kelly Holmes winning gold medals, to the real buzz when a student understands something for perhaps the first time, and they go on to make a success of their future education and life.
